On a visit to Edupuram in Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched the Deepam 2.0 scheme. This initiative provides free gas cylinders to women, aiming to empower them with clean cooking energy. Naidu personally distributed a gas cylinder to a woman named Santhamma and even prepared tea at her home.

Commitment to Women’s Welfare
Naidu expressed his joy in fulfilling one of his ‘Super 6’ election promises by offering three free cooking gas cylinders per year. He emphasized the importance of reducing smoke in kitchens and easing financial burdens for women. Naidu also promised Rs 1,500 per month to every woman, free bus travel, and educational support for students.

The Deepam 2.0 scheme helps women acquire and manage gas connections, promoting health and safety by reducing traditional cooking methods. Eligible women receive subsidies for LPG connections and equipment.
