The London Ram Leela, held on October 26 and 27, dazzled audiences with its vibrant portrayal of the Ramayana. Organized by Sutton Friends, the event took place at Tolworth Recreation Centre, drawing thousands of attendees both in-person and online. This celebration highlighted the cultural pride of London’s Indian diaspora.
About Sutton Friends
Sutton Friends is a community group representing over 3,000 Indian-origin families in Sutton and nearby areas. They are dedicated to preserving and sharing their cultural heritage with a broader audience in London.
Community Effort and Leadership
The event’s success was due to the hard work of volunteers, from actors to backstage management. Praveen Kumar led the initiative with support from Ashish Jain, Amol Chaudhary, Anup Kabra, and others. All performers were local community members, fostering a sense of connection and inspiring new talent.
