Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj Criticizes Central Government After Farsh Bazar Shooting
In a recent press conference, Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj addressed the tragic shooting incident that occurred on October 31 in Delhi’s Farsh Bazar. The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals, including a minor, and left one person severely injured. Bharadwaj criticized the BJP-led central government, attributing the deteriorating law and order in Delhi to their governance.
The police have suggested that the shooting stemmed from personal enmity. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shahdara, Prashant Gautam, revealed that a juvenile, who has been detained, is believed to be the mastermind behind the attack. The dispute involved Rs 70,000 between the juvenile and one of the deceased, Akash. The juvenile has a history of criminal involvement, including an attempt to murder charge.
During the press conference, Bharadwaj expressed that the worsening security situation turned what should have been a joyful Diwali into a night of mourning for a family in Shahdara. He also criticized the central government’s frequent interference in Delhi’s governance, suggesting that a focus on improving law and order could prevent such incidents.
The victims were identified as Akash (40) and his nephew Rishab (16), while Akash’s son, Krish (10), was injured. Akash’s mother recounted the events, mentioning a man named Lakshay who had been visiting their lane and was present during the shooting. The DCP noted that five rounds were fired during the incident.
