Maruti Suzuki India Achieves Record Sales and Production Milestones
Maruti Suzuki India has reported its highest-ever monthly sales volume, reaching 206,434 units in October. This includes domestic sales of 163,130 units, sales to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of 10,136 units, and record monthly exports of 33,168 units. The festive season and significant discounts contributed to this sales surge.
Overall, sales in October were 3.6% higher compared to the previous year. From April to October 2024, total sales increased by 1.64% year-on-year. Exports in October and the April-October period rose by 51% and 17% year-on-year, respectively. In the fiscal year 2023-24, Maruti Suzuki exported over 280,000 units to more than 100 countries, capturing a 42% share of India’s passenger vehicle exports.
Additionally, Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar facility has reached a significant milestone by producing 1 crore vehicles in just 18 years, the fastest among Suzuki’s global plants. The facility, operational since October 2006, spans 600 acres and manufactures models like Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz, Dzire, Wagon R, S-Presso, and Celerio for both domestic and international markets. Exports from this plant reach regions such as Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and neighboring Asian countries.
Maruti Suzuki has produced over 3.1 crore vehicles since its inception, solidifying its leadership in the Indian automotive industry. The company has also begun exporting its ‘Made-in-India’ SUV, the Fronx.
