JMM’s Mahua Maji Confident Amid BJP’s Age Allegations Against Hemant Soren
In Ranchi, Jharkhand, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has responded to the BJP’s focus on Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s age. JMM’s Rajya Sabha MP and Ranchi candidate, Mahua Maji, expressed confidence in winning the elections and forming the government. She criticized the BJP for avoiding development issues and instead attacking with baseless claims.
JMM Leader Manoj Pandey advised the BJP to maintain their composure, stating that all information is transparent and verified. He suggested that the BJP is facing a potential defeat and should not lose their mental balance.
Jharkhand Minister Mithilesh Thakur dismissed the BJP’s claims as nonsense, questioning why a BJP candidate’s nomination mistake was not addressed.
On the other hand, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla accused JMM of corruption and discrepancies in affidavits, claiming Hemant Soren’s age increased by seven years in five years. BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo highlighted differences in Soren’s nomination papers from 2021 and 2024.
As the Assembly elections approach, with voting on November 13 and 20, and results on November 23, the BJP has intensified its scrutiny of Hemant Soren, who is contesting from the Barhait Assembly constituency.
