In New Delhi, Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda took the ‘oath of unity’ on Wednesday as part of National Unity Day, which honors Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event was held at Nirman Bhawan, where Minister Nadda highlighted Patel’s efforts in uniting India. He stated, “We should always be grateful to him and remember him with gratitude because he made a great contribution to his independence.”

National Unity Day is celebrated on October 31, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a key figure in India’s integration post-independence. Nadda praised Patel for uniting 562 states into one nation.

Minister Nadda also extended Diwali wishes, urging everyone to fulfill their duties to the nation. He said, “I wish you all a Happy Diwali tomorrow, may you all celebrate this auspicious moment. But at the same time, we must fulfill our responsibility towards our country.”

Run for Unity Event

On October 29, Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’ in New Delhi, part of the National Unity Day celebrations. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and others. The ‘Run for Unity’ was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015 to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and promote national unity.
