On October 28, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, hosted Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at Zabeel Palace in Dubai. The meeting marked an important step in UAE-Vietnam relations, which have been strong since 1993. The UAE is Vietnam’s largest trading partner in the Middle East, with non-oil trade exceeding USD 12 billion last year.

During the visit, a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was signed to enhance trade and cooperation. This agreement aims to simplify customs, encourage fair trade, and improve market access for UAE service providers in Vietnam. The UAE’s non-oil trade target is AED 4 trillion by 2031, and this partnership is expected to contribute significantly.

Both leaders discussed expanding cooperation in tourism, investment, industry, and technology. They emphasized the importance of mutual investments and creating opportunities for businesses in both countries. The meeting also addressed regional and international developments, highlighting the need for global peace efforts.

Several agreements and MoUs were signed to boost cooperation in various sectors, including education, scientific research, and logistics. These agreements aim to foster innovation and strengthen ties between the two nations.
