Legendary Indian cricketer MS Dhoni recently shared his admiration for the more aggressive style of Test cricket being played today. Speaking at an event in Goa, Dhoni highlighted how the mindset of not settling for draws has evolved the game. He noted that cricket has changed significantly over the years, with scores once considered safe in ODIs now not secure even in T20s.

Dhoni emphasized the importance of understanding a team’s strengths to decide their style of play, acknowledging that such changes take time. Reflecting on his own career, he recalled the challenges of playing on the final day of a Test match when a draw seemed inevitable, describing it as the most tiring part of the game.

He expressed his delight at the shift towards more result-oriented Test matches, stating that draws are not beneficial for the sport. Dhoni believes that achieving a result after five days is the essence of Test cricket.

During his career from 2005 to 2014, Dhoni played 90 Tests, scoring 4,876 runs with an average of 38.09, including six centuries and 33 fifties. As the IPL retention announcement approaches, fans are eager to see if Dhoni will continue with Chennai Super Kings.
