The Indian wrestling team wrapped up the U23 World Wrestling Championships 2024 in Tirana, Albania, with a total of nine medals. The event took place from October 21 to 27.

Chirag’s Golden Victory

Chirag clinched the only gold medal for India in the men’s 57 kg category. He became the third Indian to win gold at these championships, following in the footsteps of Aman Sehrawat and Reetika Hooda.

Anji secured a silver medal in the women’s 59 kg category. Monika, who won bronze last year in the women’s 65 kg, repeated her success with another bronze in the 68 kg category. Sujeet, a former U20 World Championships bronze medalist, earned a bronze in the men’s 70 kg freestyle.

Vicky made history by winning a bronze medal in the men’s 97 kg category, becoming the first Indian to achieve this in the heavyweight division at the U23 World Championships.
