President Zelenskyy Reports Intensified Russian Attacks on Ukraine

On October 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russia has increased its attacks on Ukraine. In the past week, Russia has used over 1,100 guided aerial bombs, more than 560 strike drones, and approximately 20 missiles against Ukraine.

In a post, Zelenskyy stated, “Russia does not stop its terror against Ukraine. Daily, it launches aggression against our people, cities, and villages, using various types of weapons.” He thanked those working tirelessly to protect Ukrainians and emphasized the administration’s efforts to thwart enemy advances and ensure citizen safety.

The conflict, which escalated in February 2022 with Russia’s invasion, has resulted in thousands of civilian deaths. Despite international condemnation, Russia denies targeting civilians. Attacks are frequent, especially in Ukraine’s eastern and southern regions, with Russia using various weapons to target cities and infrastructure.

Ukraine has increased its defense efforts with Western support, but the intensity of Russian assaults highlights the need for more advanced defense capabilities.
