Congress Leader Vijay Wadettiwar Announces ‘Guarantee Card’ for Maharashtra Elections

Vijay Wadettiwar, a Congress MLA and Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly, announced that the Congress party will release a ‘Guarantee Card’ on October 30 for the upcoming Assembly elections. This card will outline the party’s promises to voters. Previously, Congress has used similar cards for the 2024 General election and other state elections.

Wadettiwar stated, “We are thinking that a Congress Guarantee Card should be given to the public before elections. This will be released on October 30. Manifesto will be released soon.”

Congress Announces Candidates for Maharashtra Elections

On Saturday, Congress released its third list of 16 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled for November 20. This brings the total number of candidates announced to 87. Some of the candidates include Rana Dalipkumar Sanada from Khamgaon, Hemant Nanda Chimote from Melghat, and Manohar Tulshiram Poreti from Gadchiroli.

Maha Vikas Aghadi’s Seat-Sharing Arrangement

The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar), has agreed on a seat-sharing arrangement for 255 constituencies, with each party contesting 85 seats. Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole confirmed this arrangement.

Upcoming Elections

The nomination process for the 288 assembly seats has begun, with polling set for November 20 and results to be announced on November 23. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, BJP secured 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42.
