The Delhi Kabaddi League (DKL) held a grand ceremony in New Delhi to unveil its official logo and trophy. The event was attended by Ramesh Bidhuri, president of the Delhi State Kabaddi Association, and former Indian Kabaddi player Manjeet Chhillar, who is also the league’s brand ambassador.

Exciting Milestone for Kabaddi

Ramesh Bidhuri expressed that the unveiling marks a significant step in elevating Kabaddi’s status. He stated, “We are proud to present this league to the people of Delhi and look forward to seeing the enthusiasm it generates.”

Teams and Structure

The league will feature eight teams: Ghazipur Maharajas, Karol Bagh Tusker, Tughlakabad Kings, Royal Chandani Chowk, Shahdara Sardars, Rohini Titans, Chhatarpur Spartans, and Najafgarh Warriors. A formal bidding process will establish these franchises, promoting local talent and providing a platform for athletes.

Prizes and Competition

The league promises high-stakes competition with substantial prizes. The winners will receive Rs 5 lakh, the runners-up Rs 3 lakh, and the 3rd and 4th place teams Rs 1 lakh each.

Manjeet Chhillar expressed his excitement about the league, stating, “I am thrilled to see the sport gain such momentum in Delhi, and I am committed to supporting its growth.”

Other notable attendees included DSKA general secretary Rambir Singh, former senior vice president M S Tyagi, League commissioner Niranjan Singh, current vice president Sunil Kumar, and USPL founder Jaideep Singh.
