Indian Army and Police Bust Terror Hideout in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir

The Indian Army’s Romeo Force, along with the Special Operations Group (SOG) police, successfully uncovered a terror hideout in the Balnoi sector of Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. This operation led to the discovery of two grenades and three Pakistani mines.

In a related effort, search operations were conducted in Tangmarg and other areas of Jammu and Kashmir to find those responsible for recent terror attacks in Gulmarg, Baramulla, and Gagangir in the Ganderbal district. These attacks included the killing of two Army soldiers and two civilian porters on October 24 in Baramulla, and the murder of a doctor and six construction workers on October 20 in Ganderbal.

Following these incidents, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha instructed the police to enhance security around key infrastructure projects and construction sites. Measures include a security audit, round-the-clock checkpoints, night patrols, and area control.

Additionally, the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted a significant operation across six districts, capturing recruiters linked to the terror group “Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim” (TLM), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), managed by a Pakistani handler known as Baba Hamas.
