Odisha’s Recovery After Cyclone Dana

Odisha Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the restoration work in Odisha is nearing completion after Cyclone Dana struck the coastal areas. The cyclone made landfall between Bhitarkanika and Dhamra with wind speeds of 100-110 kmph, causing damage such as uprooted trees and snapped power lines. Although one person was reported dead in West Bengal, Odisha reported zero casualties. Chief Minister Majhi stated that eight lakh people were evacuated, and the situation is being monitored continuously. Despite challenges from ongoing rain, restoration of electric wires is progressing, and relief centers remain open.

Deputy CM KV Singh Deo confirmed that 90% of electricity damage has been restored, and all government officers have performed their duties effectively. In Jajpur district, 163 deliveries occurred during the cyclone, as reported by CDMO Shibasish Moharana.
