Delhi Police Arrests 7 Members of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
The Special Cell of Delhi Police has successfully arrested seven members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. These arrests took place in Punjab and nearby states, as announced by Additional Commissioner of Police, Pramod Kumar Kushwaha. The gang members were reportedly receiving direct orders from RJ Bishnoi, a former member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Details of the Arrests
The first arrest was made in Delhi on October 23, involving a person named Ritesh. Another individual, Sukharam, was apprehended in Rajasthan, with further arrests occurring in Abohar and Sirsa, Punjab. The group was allegedly plotting the murder of Sunil Pehelwan in Rajasthan. A GPS tracking device was also recovered during the operation.
Arms Facilitator Arrested
In addition to the shooters, Delhi Police arrested Rijwan Ansari, an arms facilitator and key member of the gang. Rijwan was wanted for supplying arms in various cases in Uttar Pradesh, including Muzaffarnagar. He was caught in Dwarka, Delhi, while riding a stolen scooter. The police recovered a sophisticated pistol, a country-made pistol, and live cartridges from him.
Background of Rijwan Ansari
Rijwan Ansari hails from Khurja, Bulandshahr, UP. His family was involved in the crockery business, but Rijwan, along with his brothers and nephew, turned to illegal arms supply. His cousin, Shahbaz Ansari, previously arrested for supplying arms in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, facilitated these activities.
