PM Modi to Launch Major Development Projects in Gujarat’s Amreli District

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat’s Amreli district on October 28 to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 4800 crore. These projects span across Amreli, Jamnagar, Morbi, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Junagadh, Porbandar, Kutch, and Botad districts.

Water Supply and Infrastructure Projects

Among the key projects, PM Modi will inaugurate water supply department projects worth Rs 705 crore, including the Bharatmata Sarovar on the Gagadio river in Amreli, built at a cost of Rs 35 crore. Additionally, 1000 projects related to pit, bore, and well recharge will be launched, along with 590 projects under the Water Resource Department.

National Highway and Railway Projects

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) projects worth over Rs 2800 crore. The Bhuj-Naliya gauge conversion project, costing Rs 1094 crore, will be dedicated to the nation, enhancing connectivity in Kutch district.

Water Supply Benefits

The Navda to Chavand bulk pipeline project will provide an additional 28 crore liters of water to 1298 villages and 36 towns, benefiting around 6.7 million people. In Bhavnagar district, water schemes will aid 95 villages, covering a population of approximately 2.75 lakh.

Public-Private Partnership Initiatives

Under a Public-Private Partnership model, the Gujarat Government and Dholakia Foundation have developed the Bharatmata Sarovar, increasing groundwater levels and providing irrigation benefits to nearby villages.

Tourism Development

PM Modi will lay the foundation for tourism projects worth Rs 200 crore, including eco-tourism development at the Karli Recharge Reservoir in Mokarsagar, Porbandar district.
