On October 25, India warmly welcomed Delcy Rodriguez, the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, as she arrived for a working visit. Delcy Rodriguez’s visit follows her previous trip in August 2023, where she attended the 9th CII-LAC Conclave at the invitation of India’s Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal. She was accompanied by four ministers and a 25-member business delegation. During that visit, she engaged in discussions with key Indian officials, including the Minister of Finance, the External Affairs Minister, and the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Rodriguez’s earlier visit to India was in October 2019, when she attended the 2nd International Solar Alliance General Assembly with the Minister of Economy and Finance, Simon Zerpa.

In Venezuela’s recent election, Nicolas Maduro was declared the winner with 51.2% of the votes, while opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia received 44.2%. The results led to accusations of fraud, which were widely discussed on social media.
