In Bhubaneshwar, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the state’s preparations for the severe Cyclone Dana, aiming for zero casualties. The government has evacuated over 300,000 people and ensured the safety of more than 2,300 pregnant women. Over 7,000 cyclone shelters are ready, with medical and veterinary teams deployed. Police presence is increased to ensure public safety.

Government’s Strategic Measures

Each minister is assigned to oversee operations in 10 districts. Power supply is secured with DG sets, gensets, and inverters at district hospitals. NDRF and ODRAF teams are stationed in affected areas. The expected landfall is near Dhamra Port and Bhitarkanika Park.

Public Safety and Evacuation

Odisha Minister Suryabanshi Suraj urged the public to use cyclone shelters, with over 25,000 people already evacuated. Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo assured that all departments are prepared to handle the cyclone’s impact. A high-level meeting was chaired by CM Majhi to review the state’s readiness.
