Union Minister Giriraj Singh’s Visit to Meghalaya
Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh, is scheduled for a two-day visit to Meghalaya from October 25 to 26. During his visit, he will inaugurate the permanent campus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) at Umsawli and attend its convocation ceremony. The event will also be attended by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles Pabitra Margherita.
Development Initiatives in Ri Bhoi District
Later, Giriraj Singh will visit Ri Bhoi district to review the Aspirational District Programme and various central government schemes. He will meet with district administration officials to discuss developmental initiatives.
Visit to Eri Silk Village and Key Locations
The Minister will also visit the Eri Silk Village in Umden to interact with local weavers, artisans, and tourism stakeholders. Additionally, he will visit beneficiaries at Umkon-1 Anganwadi Centre and Marngar Primary Health Centre.
This visit highlights the focus of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government on infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, education, startups, entrepreneurship, and tourism development, aligning with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Purvottar’.
