Indian and Tibetan Leaders Discuss Community Support and Climate Issues in Dharamshala

The Tibetan Centre for Conflict Resolution (TCCR) organized a round table discussion in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, focusing on collaborative initiatives, inter-community support, and climate challenges. The event, part of the “Coexisting and Flourishing” series, brought together Tibetan and Indian activists, environmentalists, and local organization members, including the hotel and restaurant association, Dharamshala Municipal Corporation, and police representatives.

The discussion aimed to strengthen the long-standing friendship between Indian and Tibetan communities by addressing issues impacting their lives and fostering harmony. Sonam Dechen, associate director of TCCR, emphasized the importance of creating a platform for both communities to share grievances and visions for the future, while also discussing environmental concerns.

Arvind Sharma from Dhauladhar Cleaners NGO and Priya, a research scholar from Central University of Himachal Pradesh, highlighted the significance of the meeting in addressing community problems and learning from each other. Established in 2001, TCCR has conducted over 450 workshops, positively impacting more than 12,000 people worldwide.
