This occurred after a meeting with NCP-SCP Chief Sharad Pawar at the YB Chavan Centre in Mumbai. Patil submitted his resignation to NCP President Sunil Tatkare.

Meanwhile, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, which includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress, is in discussions to finalize seat-sharing arrangements. Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole expressed optimism about reaching an agreement, following a briefing from party leader Balasaheb Thorat on his meeting with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. Thorat mentioned that the list for the assembly polls will be released soon.

Election Preparations Intensify

Both the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition MVA are ramping up their election preparations, though seat-sharing formulas have yet to be announced. Recently, former Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Rajkumar Badole joined the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in Mumbai, in the presence of state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections

The Maharashtra assembly elections are set for November 20, with results for all 288 constituencies to be announced on November 23. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42.
