As the Jharkhand assembly elections approach, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced its star campaigners, with Party President Shibu Soren at the forefront. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will lead the central leadership, joined by key party figures like Nalin Soren, Kalpana Murmu Soren, and others. The elections will occur in two phases on November 13 and 20, with results on November 23.

Hemant Soren declared that the INDIA bloc, including JMM and Congress, will contest 70 out of 81 seats, while discussions continue with RJD and Left parties for the remaining seats. Meanwhile, the BJP has released its candidate list, with Babulal Marandi contesting from Dhanwar. The BJP will partner with AJSU, JD-U, and LJP, contesting 68 seats, while AJSU, JD-U, and LJP will contest 10, 2, and 1 seat respectively.

In the 2019 elections, the UPA, including JMM, Congress, and RJD, won 47 seats, defeating the BJP’s 25 seats in the 81-member assembly.
