The plan includes starting 50 new airports or expanding existing ones over the next five years, with a goal of reaching 350 airports by 2047. The scheme, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has significantly improved connectivity in remote areas, especially in the northeast and hinterland regions.
