Gagangir Terror Attack: Doctor and Workers Killed in Jammu and Kashmir
A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team is on its way to Gagangir in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district after a terror attack claimed the lives of a doctor and six construction workers. The attack occurred at a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway. The terrorists, believed to be at least two, opened fire on a group of labourers, resulting in the immediate death of two and later claiming the lives of three more and a doctor due to injuries. Five individuals are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah condemned the attack, describing it as a “despicable act of cowardice” and assured that those responsible will face severe consequences. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also condemned the attack, expressing sadness over the targeted killing of non-local labourers working on an important infrastructure project.
