IDF’s Golani Brigade Conducts Targeted Operation Against Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces’ Golani Infantry Brigade is actively engaged in a “targeted ground operation” in southern Lebanon, focusing on the Hezbollah terrorist organization. The operation has resulted in the elimination of approximately 60 terrorists through both ground and air attacks. The forces have also destroyed numerous terrorist infrastructures, including above-ground and underground facilities, and uncovered enemy weapons and documents along Israel’s border fence.
In recent days, the Golani Reconnaissance Special Forces have engaged in direct combat, successfully eliminating many terrorists. During an encounter last Wednesday, the forces discovered an underground infrastructure with a shaft containing numerous weapons. In this operation, four entrenched terrorists were eliminated. However, the encounter also resulted in the loss of five Golani patrol soldiers and commanders: Major Ofek Bakr, Captain Elad Siman Tov, First Sergeant Elyashiv Eitan Wieder, First Sergeant Yaakov Hillel, and First Sergeant Yehuda Dror Yahalom.
Despite these losses, the IDF remains resolute, stating, “We will not stop and will continue to hit the enemy.”
