Discontent Over Seat Allocation for Jharkhand Assembly Elections

In Ranchi, Jharkhand, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Kumar Jha expressed dissatisfaction with the Congress-JMM alliance’s decision to allocate only a few seats to the RJD for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. Jha stated that while the RJD supports the goal of defeating the BJP, the current seat-sharing arrangement is unacceptable.

Jha mentioned that discussions were held in a friendly manner with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren present. However, the decision to offer only 7 seats was made unilaterally, and later reduced to 3-4 seats, which Jha deemed unacceptable to the party’s workers, voters, and leaders.

Jha highlighted that the RJD could support the alliance in 60-62 seats, but noted that in 14 strong areas, winning would be challenging. Despite this, he emphasized the significant average vote share in areas where the RJD was the runner-up.

Political Developments in Jharkhand
