UAE’s ‘Stand with Lebanon’ Campaign Collects 250 Tonnes of Aid
In Abu Dhabi, the ‘UAE stands with Lebanon’ campaign has successfully gathered 250 tonnes of relief aid at the Expo Centre Sharjah. This effort saw the participation of 3,000 volunteers from various segments of UAE society. The campaign was organized by the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, the Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), and Sharjah Charity International (SCI), with support from numerous Emirati humanitarian institutions.
The initiative was launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and overseen by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan supervised the campaign, which has been ongoing for nearly two weeks.
Prominent figures like Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi and Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi participated, highlighting the leadership’s commitment to humanitarian causes. Sheikh Saqr emphasized the UAE’s dedication to humanitarian work, while Mariam Al Hammadi, Director General of TBHF, noted the widespread support from both public and private sectors.
Abdullah bin Khadem, Executive Director of SCI, praised the diverse community involvement, reflecting the Emirati society’s compassion. The campaign, launched on October 8, involved numerous UAE humanitarian organizations, including the Emirates Red Crescent, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and many others.
