Prime Minister Modi’s Visit to Varanasi
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, to unveil several significant projects. These projects, valued at over Rs 6,100 crore, include airport expansions and a new eye hospital.
Airport Projects
Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the expansion of the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, which includes a new terminal building. This project is worth around Rs 2,870 crore. Additionally, he will initiate projects at Agra, Darbhanga, and Bagdogra airports, with a combined investment of over Rs 3,000 crore. New terminal buildings at Rewa, Maa Mahamaya, Ambikapur, and Sarsawa airports will also be inaugurated, enhancing passenger capacity to over 2.3 crore annually.
Sports and Tourism Development
In Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate Phases 2 and 3 of the Varanasi Sports Complex redevelopment under the Khelo India scheme. This project, worth over Rs 210 crore, will feature a National Centre of Excellence and various sports facilities. Additionally, tourism development works in Sarnath and other areas will be launched, including pedestrian-friendly streets and modern vending zones.
Other Initiatives
Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital, providing comprehensive eye care services. Other initiatives include tourism development at Banasur and Gurudham Temples and the beautification of parks.
