In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two terrorists in the Poonch district. This was announced by Anand Jain, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Jammu and Kashmir. The arrests have helped solve several grenade attack cases in the region.

ADGP Anand Jain explained that the arrested individuals were involved in activities such as throwing grenades at religious sites, hospitals, and army bases, as well as putting up anti-national posters. These actions were aimed at disrupting the communal harmony in the area.

Earlier, security forces had apprehended a terror-linked individual in the Dundak area of the Surankote Sector, recovering four grenades from the suspect. This arrest is seen as a major breakthrough in addressing recent terror incidents in the district.

In related incidents, a migrant laborer from Bihar, Ashok Chauhan, was found dead with bullet injuries in the Shopian district. Additionally, the body of a missing soldier from the territorial army, who had been abducted by terrorists, was recovered in the Anantnag area. A joint counter-terrorist operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police in the Kazwan Forest in Kokernag.
