Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed party workers in Jammu, dismissing claims that the National Conference (NC) is a ‘Muslim Party’. The elections marked the first since the abrogation of Article 370, with NC winning 42 seats and Congress six. The BJP secured 29 seats in Jammu, while other parties and independents won the remaining seats. Omar Abdullah was sworn in as the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory of J-K.
