In a major event, the police in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, reported that 38 Naxals were killed in a recent encounter in the forest of Abujhmad, near the Dantewada-Narayanpur border. The police statement revealed that the encounter took place in the villages of Nendur and Thulthuli. The Naxals had a collective bounty of Rs 2.62 crore. Bodies of 31 Naxals were recovered, and 29 have been returned to their families. All 38 Naxals have been identified, including high-ranking members such as one DKSZC, one CYPC commander, and others. Many Naxals were also injured in the encounter.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed satisfaction over the operation, emphasizing the government’s dedication to combating Naxalism. He reiterated this commitment in a social media post, highlighting ongoing efforts since his administration took office. Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that left-wing extremism would be eradicated from India by March 2026.
