Delhi Minister Atishi Hospitalized Due to Low Blood Sugar During Hunger Strike

Delhi Minister Atishi was admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital after her blood sugar level dropped to 36. This happened during her indefinite hunger strike against the Haryana government for not releasing 100 million gallons of water per day to Delhi.

Health Concerns

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj informed that Atishi’s health condition deteriorated, leading to her hospitalization. Doctors are currently monitoring her vitals and will provide further suggestions.

Reason for Hunger Strike

Atishi’s hunger strike, which entered its fifth day, aims to secure water rights for 28 lakh residents of Delhi. The AAP alleges that Haryana is supplying 100 million gallons less water daily, causing a severe water shortage in the national capital.

Impact of Water Shortage

The water shortage has been exacerbated by high temperatures and heat waves, forcing Delhi residents to rely on water tankers for their daily needs. This situation has become a common sight in many areas of the city since the start of the summer season.
