The Supreme Court of India has rejected a plea seeking re-elections in twenty assembly seats in Haryana due to alleged discrepancies in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The bench, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, found the petition frivolous and dismissed it.

The petition, filed by Priya Mishra and Vikas Bansal through advocate Narendra Mishra, claimed that some EVMs were operating at varying battery capacities, raising suspicions about the election results. The Indian National Congress had also raised concerns about these discrepancies with the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The petitioners argued that the discrepancies in EVM battery levels, ranging from 60% to 99%, could indicate corrupt electoral practices. They requested the court to direct the ECI to conduct re-elections and publish detailed turnout data.
