BSF and Punjab Police Seize Heroin and IED in Gurdaspur and Fazilka
In a joint operation, the Border Security Forces (BSF) and Punjab Police successfully recovered a packet of suspected heroin in Gurdaspur district, Punjab. The operation was based on information from two captured narco-smugglers and took place near the Kassowal Bulge area by the Ravi River. Along with the heroin, an Oppo smartphone and a Hero Splendor motorcycle were seized. The smugglers and the heroin were handed over to Gurdaspur police for further investigation.
BSF Punjab Frontier highlighted the effective collaboration between BSF and Punjab Police in tackling drug trafficking in border areas. On the same day, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found at the India-Pakistan border in Fazilka district. The device, allegedly delivered by a drone, contained RDX, batteries, and timers. The BSF transferred the IED to the State Special Cell, and investigations are ongoing.
