Dale Steyn Leaves Sunrisers Hyderabad
Former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn has decided to part ways with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as their bowling coach ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Steyn, who joined SRH in 2022, announced his departure due to personal reasons. He will continue his role with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 league in South Africa, where the team has won two consecutive titles.
Coaching Changes at SRH
Steyn joined SRH under head coach Tom Moody in 2021. After Moody, Brian Lara took over in 2023, followed by Daniel Vettori in 2024. Under Vettori’s guidance, SRH reached the IPL final for the first time since 2018 but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders.

SRH has made significant player retention decisions. Heinrich Klaasen is retained for Rs 23 crore, Pat Cummins for Rs 18 crore, and Abhishek Sharma for Rs 14 crore.
