Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, has arrived in Mexico for her first official visit to the country. She was welcomed at Guadalajara Airport by India’s Ambassador to Mexico, Pankaj Sharma. The visit, from October 17 to 20, aims to enhance bilateral ties between India and Mexico, focusing on trade, investment, technology, and innovation.

During her visit, Sitharaman will meet with political and business leaders in Guadalajara and Mexico City. In Guadalajara, known as the ‘Silicon Valley’ of Mexico, she will chair a Tech Leaders’ Roundtable with global technology leaders, including representatives from major Indian IT companies. The discussions will focus on boosting cooperation in technology and innovation.
She will also visit the headquarters of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading Indian IT firm with a significant presence in Mexico. Additionally, Sitharaman will hold a bilateral meeting with Mexico’s Minister of Finance and Public Credit, H.E. Mr. Rogelio Ramirez de la O, to discuss strengthening economic relations.
