Alastair Cook, Neetu David, and AB de Villiers Join ICC Hall of Fame
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the induction of three cricket legends into the ICC Hall of Fame: England’s Alastair Cook, India’s Neetu David, and South Africa’s AB de Villiers.
Alastair Cook
Alastair Cook, known for his patience and technique, scored 12,472 runs in 161 Test matches, making him England’s all-time leading run-scorer. His career highlights include leading England to victories in the 2010-11 Ashes and the 2012 Test series in India. Cook expressed his surprise and honor at being inducted.
Neetu David
Neetu David, a pioneering Indian bowler, is the second Indian woman to enter the Hall of Fame. With 141 wickets in 97 ODIs, she remains a key figure in Indian cricket. Her record-breaking 8/53 against England in 1995 is still the best in women’s Test cricket. David continues to contribute to the sport as the selection chair for India’s women’s team.
AB de Villiers
AB de Villiers, known as ‘Mr 360’, is celebrated for his innovative batting style. With over 20,000 international runs, he holds the record for the fastest men’s ODI century. De Villiers acknowledged the support of his teammates throughout his career.
