Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande has been appointed as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) by the Governor of Maharashtra. She expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena leaders, and the people of Maharashtra for their support. Kayande, who has a background in zoology, acknowledged the party’s faith in her achievements.

Chitra Kishor Wagh from the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) also expressed her happiness over her appointment as MLC, thanking the BJP for the opportunity. She believes that the Mahayuti government will gain power in Maharashtra.

The swearing-in ceremony for the seven newly appointed MLCs took place at Vidhan Bhavan, with Deputy Chairperson Neelam Gorhe administering the oath. Meanwhile, the High Court is reviewing a case regarding the vacant posts of 12 MLCs appointed by the Governor.

The Maharashtra Assembly, consisting of 288 seats, is set to hold elections later this year. The Election Commission of India is expected to announce the election dates soon. The elections will feature a contest between the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition and the Maha Yuti Alliance.
