In New Delhi, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Maluk Nagar condemned the recent incident in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, where a clash during a Durga idol immersion procession led to violence. Nagar assured that strict legal action would be taken against those responsible for disrupting peace.

Details of the Incident

The clash occurred in the Mahasi area of Bahraich district when a procession passed through a Muslim area, leading to an argument between two communities. The situation escalated, resulting in the death of a Hindu community member and injuries to several others.

Bahraich Superintendent of Police, Vrinda Shukla, reported that 30 individuals have been detained, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the main suspect.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that those responsible for the unrest would face consequences. He assured that idol immersions would proceed as planned, with police and administration officials ensuring safety and communication with religious groups.
