Chennai, Tamil Nadu, October 15: The Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, conducted a survey of the Narayanapuram lake banks and Ambedkar road canals following heavy rainfall in the region. This inspection was carried out under the guidance of Chief Minister MK Stalin.

During the survey, Deputy CM Stalin assessed the strengthening of the Narayanapuram lake banks and the channels leading to the rainwater lake. He also visited the canal on Ambedkar road, which channels surplus water from Kilikattalai Lake to Narayanapuram Lake. The Deputy CM engaged with local residents to address their concerns and instructed officials to take necessary actions.

Earlier, Chief Minister MK Stalin held a review meeting with senior officials to discuss the situation. Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam also met with officials to ensure proper arrangements were in place. Residents in Velachery took precautions by parking their cars on the flyover to avoid damage. An advisory was issued to fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea, and IT employees were advised to work from home from October 15 to 18.
