Restoration Efforts
Southern Railways reported that train traffic on the mainline was quickly resumed after the accident. The down-line track was restored, and a train passed through the site on Sunday morning. The up-line track was restored by Friday evening. Passengers stranded due to the accident were transported to Ponneri and Chennai Central by buses and special trains.
