UAE’s Abu Dhabi Hosts Donation Event for Lebanon Relief

On October 14, a significant donation event took place at Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal 1, part of the ‘UAE stands with Lebanon’ campaign. This initiative, which began on October 8, successfully collected 250 tonnes of relief materials to aid those affected by the ongoing conflict in Lebanon.

Leadership and Organization

The event was organized under the guidance of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with support from Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Emirates Red Crescent Authority led the collection efforts, with over 4,400 volunteers from various nationalities packing 10,000 baskets of supplies.

Community Involvement

Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, highlighted the strong historical ties between the UAE and Lebanon, as demonstrated by the widespread public participation. The event showcased the spirit of human solidarity among the diverse UAE society.

Participating Organizations

Around 24 donor and volunteer organizations participated, including the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, among others. The campaign will continue until October 21.
