Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Responds to Governor’s Allegations

In Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan addressed claims made by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, stating they were “contrary to facts.” The Governor accused the CM of lacking credibility and hiding information, and suggested that smuggled gold funded banned organizations. Vijayan refuted these claims, emphasizing that the Kerala Police had not mentioned such activities on their official website.

Vijayan described the credibility allegation as a “personal attack” and insisted the government is transparent. He protested the insinuations, stating, “There is nothing to hide from the Government’s side.”

Governor Khan had criticized Vijayan for allegedly misattributing remarks on gold smuggling and keeping him uninformed. Khan questioned if it was his duty to report prejudicial activities to the president, especially when informed by the CM. He noted that Vijayan had not mentioned anti-national activities publicly but acknowledged gold smuggling as a national threat.

Vijayan reiterated that he had not mentioned anti-national activities in any statements. He assured that policy matters and meeting minutes were shared promptly with the Governor. The CM’s letter concluded by reminding the Governor that baseless allegations and personal insults hinder understanding and unbiased conclusions.
