Mumbai Police Confirms Dharmaraj Kashyap Not a Minor in Baba Siddique Murder Case

The Mumbai police conducted an ossification test on Dharmaraj Kashyap, accused in the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique. The test confirmed that Kashyap is not a minor, as claimed by his lawyer. Following this, he was presented in court, which granted police custody until October 21.

The ossification test, a medical procedure used to estimate age by analyzing bone fusion, was ordered by Mumbai’s Esplanade Court. This was after Kashyap’s lawyer claimed he was a minor. Mumbai police stated, “His lawyer claimed that he was a minor. The test was conducted, and it was confirmed that he is not a minor. He was produced in court, and the court has granted police custody till October 21.”

Another accused, Gurmail Singh, is also in custody until October 21. A third shooter, Shivakumar, is currently on the run. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police arrested Pravin Lonkar from Pune, who is implicated in the conspiracy along with his brother Shubham Lonkar. They allegedly recruited Kashyap and Shivkumar Gautam in the plot to kill Siddique.

Baba Siddique was shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar and succumbed to his injuries at Lilavati Hospital. His last rites were performed with full state honors at Bada Qabrastan.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde commented on the incident, calling it unfortunate and sad. He assured that the absconding accused would be arrested soon and that strict action would be taken against those involved, regardless of their affiliations. He also promised safety for those receiving threats.
