President Droupadi Murmu’s Historic Visit to Algeria

On October 13, President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Algiers, Algeria, marking a historic moment as the first Indian President to visit the country. She was warmly welcomed by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. This visit is part of her three-nation tour, which includes Mauritania and Malawi.

Agenda in Algeria

During her stay in Algeria, President Murmu will attend an Indian community reception, pay respects at the Maqam Echahid monument, and engage in talks with President Tebboune. She will also address the Algeria-India Economic Forum and inaugurate the India Corner at Hamma Garden.

Visit to Mauritania

President Murmu will arrive in Mauritania on October 16, marking the first high-level visit from India since Mauritania’s independence in 1960. She will meet with President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani and sign four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) related to culture and diplomatic relations.

Visit to Malawi

On October 17, President Murmu will visit Malawi, where she will meet with the President of Malawi and address a business event. Three MoUs on youth affairs, sports, and cultural exchange will be signed. Her visit concludes on October 19.
