Mumbai Customs Seize Suspected Ganja at Airport
On October 12, officials at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, Maharashtra, seized 596 grams of suspected ganja, valued at approximately Rs 59.60 lakh. The contraband was hidden inside food packets within a trolley bag carried by a passenger arriving from Bangkok, Thailand. The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officers conducted the operation, and an investigation is currently underway.
In a related incident earlier this month, Mumbai customs arrested two passengers and confiscated gold and foreign currency at the airport. On the night of October 4 and 5, 1.165 kg of gold worth around Rs 84 lakh and foreign currency valued at Rs 63.98 lakh were seized. The gold was discovered concealed on the body of the accused individuals.
