Raju Banarsi Arrested in Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand Forest

In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police have apprehended Raju Banarsi, an alleged contract killer, who had been on the run since 2013. Raju, also known as Raju Singh, hails from Palamu, Jharkhand, and was captured by the Inter State Cell of the Crime Branch in the dense forests bordering Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

Raju was wanted in connection with a murder case orchestrated by the victim’s brother, Rajesh Singh Lamba, over a property dispute. The contract killing involved six individuals, including Raju, who were paid Rs 10 lakh. Raju’s role was to provide backup and an escape route for his accomplices during the murder of Jitender Lamba.

Despite the arrest of his co-accused, Raju managed to evade capture for years, leading to a Rs 50,000 bounty on his head. The police faced numerous challenges, including outdated contact information, but their persistence paid off. By analyzing mobile data, they tracked a suspicious number to the forest area, leading to Raju’s arrest while he was driving a truck.
