Punjab Police Busts Crime Module Linked to Pavitar USA and Manjinder France
In a significant operation against organized crime, the Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and SAS Nagar Police have dismantled a criminal module operated by foreign handlers Pavitar USA and Manjinder France. The operation led to the arrest of Navjot Singh, also known as Jota, and three illegal weapon suppliers from Rajasthan.
Key Arrests and Recoveries
The arrested weapon suppliers, identified as Mohammad Asif, Bhanu Sisodia, and Anil Kumar, hail from Balotra, Rajasthan. Navjot Singh, with 21 criminal cases against him, was found in possession of a consignment containing two pistols, including a sophisticated automatic .32 caliber pistol, and eight live cartridges.
Operation Details
According to Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, Navjot Singh was allegedly tasked with eliminating a rival gangster and a travel agent. The operation was executed based on intelligence about a Rajasthan-based arms trafficking gang entering Punjab. A special checkpoint was set up at Dera Bassi-Mubarakpur road, leading to the successful arrest of the accused.
Ongoing Investigations
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) SAS Nagar, Deepak Pareek, confirmed that further investigations are underway to uncover more connections and potential arrests. A case has been registered under sections 25(6) and 25(7) of the Arms Act at Police Station Dera Bassi.
