Ackermann shared his sentiments during the launch of the Federation of European Businesses in India, recalling his meeting with Tata 15 years ago. He emphasized the great loss for India, highlighting Tata’s contributions as a philanthropist and entrepreneur.

Ratan Tata’s Legacy

Ratan Tata, who passed away at the age of 86, was the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons. Born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, he led Tata Sons from 1991 until his retirement in 2012. He was also the Chairman of the Ratan Tata Trust and Dorabji Tata Trust, two major philanthropic organizations in India. In 2008, he was honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award.

Following Ratan Tata’s demise, Tata Trusts announced the appointment of Noel Naval Tata as the new chairman. The Trustees of the various trusts met in Mumbai to honor Ratan Tata’s contributions to the Tata Group and his role in nation-building.
