Himachal Pradesh CM Announces Benefits for Employees and Pensioners

4% DA Increase

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh has announced a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees and pensioners. This decision will benefit 1.80 lakh employees and 1.70 lakh pensioners starting from January 1, 2023, and will cost the state an additional Rs 600 crore annually.

Early Salary and Pension Payment

The Chief Minister also declared that the salaries and pensions for November will be disbursed on October 28, ahead of the Deepawali festival.

Clearing Pending Medical Bills

All pending medical bills for employees and retirees will be cleared, with a provision of Rs 10 crore already made. Departments have been instructed to settle these bills within the month.

Arrears Payment

Pensioners over 75 years will receive their full pending arrears, with Rs 202 crore allocated for salary and pension arrears this financial year. Additionally, class-IV employees will receive an extra Rs 20,000 in arrears.

State’s Financial Health

CM Sukhu assured that Himachal Pradesh aims to be self-reliant by 2027 and dismissed claims of a financial crisis, criticizing opposition leaders for spreading misinformation.
